Complete the following 2 tutorial:
iExpress- Silhouette
Making a Silhouette using both Photoshop and Illustrator (Video Link to watch)
Popular today is Apple I-tune and Ipod. Using your body to express your iWord or iPhrase in such a way that your silhouette would communicate meaning about yourself.
- Strike a pose: Take a picture behind blank on color wall. iWord or I Pharse (ex: iProtect, iDefend, iHelp, IMtrustworthy, iCare, iWonder, iThink, iMafriend, iRespect, etc.
- Download picture into Photoshop. size 8x10. Save project tile firstname.iexpress.
- Using the Quick Selection tool (use +and/or - to find tune selection). May try other selection to if desired.
- Then got to Refine edge tools> show on white background to see what you missed
- Still in Refine edge: Turn on smart radius (adjust it to liking) & Decontamination of color & play with other slider if need it
- Then refine the image using brush (soft or hard) white and black
- Save photoshop file
- Open Illustrator- Place image in
- Image trace while it is selected
- Use preset: Silhouette or B&W Logo
- Add text with Image (in Illustrator or if like back to Photoshop)
- Change image color, or text. Image size, placements, orientation, and add other silhouetted elements if desired.
- Save project and upload to Website

Tips for Using the Pen Tool
Creating Paths
- click: add an anchor point with no curve arcs
- click+drag: add an anchor point with handles which define curve arcs
- alt+click+drag: change the curve direction going out from an anchor point
- ctrl: press-and-hold to move an anchor point or adjust its handles on the fly
- add an anchor point within a path segment: move the pen cursor to the path where you want to add an anchor point (a + sign will appear next to the cursor), click to add
- delete an anchor point : move the pen cursor to the anchor point you wish to delete (a - sign will appear next to the cursor), click to delete
- change an anchor point from curved to straight: alt+click
- change an anchor point from straight to curved: alt+click+drag

- Finish the two tutorial by Wednesday December 9 (NO CLASS Nov. 21 & Nov. 28)
- Bring a digital copy of your resume for next class. (For InDesign Brochure)
- Have all Assignments ready to be print. I will be taking assignment to printer.
